Brim itself collects nothing. The ads it shows do.

Brim is free and shows a single advertisement when you reach your daily goal. That advertisement is served by Google AdMob, which collects data — so the honest version of this policy has two halves, and they are separated below.

A one-time in-app purchase removes the ad. After that, no ad SDK request is ever made from your device.

What Brim stores

Brim stores the following on your iPhone only:

• the amounts of water you log, and when you logged them
• your daily goal, preferred units, and quick-add amounts
• your reminder settings, chosen colour, language, and day-start hour

This lives in an App Group container on the device, shared between the Brim app and the Brim widget so the widget's quick-add button can record a drink without opening the app. It is included in your device backup if you back your device up, and in that case it is governed by Apple's terms, not ours.

Advertising

The free version shows one advertisement per day, when you reach your daily goal. It is served by Google AdMob. To do that, the AdMob SDK receives information from your device — typically a device identifier, coarse location inferred from your IP address, and technical details about your device and the ad shown. That data goes to Google, not to us: we never see it, and we have no account system to attach it to.

Google's handling of it is governed by their own policy: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

Brim does not ask for permission to track you and never requests the advertising identifier (IDFA). Ads are therefore non-personalised. If you are in the EU or UK you will additionally be shown a consent form the first time, as required by law, and your choice there is passed to Google.

Removing ads. A single in-app purchase ("Remove the daily ad") stops it permanently. Once purchased, Brim makes no ad request at all — the SDK is never started. It is a one-time payment, not a subscription. Apple processes the payment; we receive no payment details.

What Brim does not do

• Brim has no account and no sign-in. We have no way to identify you.
• Brim does not use HealthKit and does not read or write health data.
• Brim does not request the advertising identifier and does not ask to track you across apps or websites.
• Brim sends none of your drinking data anywhere. Your log, goal, and settings are never transmitted — not to us, not to Google, not to anyone. The ad SDK has no access to them.
• There is no analytics SDK and no crash reporter in the app.
• There is no subscription.

Notifications

If you turn on reminders, Brim schedules local notifications on your device. These are generated and delivered entirely on-device; nothing is sent to us or to anyone else. You can revoke notification permission at any time in iOS Settings, and Brim continues to work without it.

Deleting your data

Settings → "Clear all data" permanently deletes everything Brim has stored. Deleting the app also removes it.

Children

Brim is suitable for all ages and collects nothing from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new "last updated" date.
